Students in Honors Spanish III had a blast perfecting their grammar skills through a unique blend of music and culture.

This week, Mr. Ribeiro's class explored conjugation patterns in Spanish using a musical approach. In class, they performed Enrique Iglesias' "Quizas," which provided the perfect backdrop for the students to grasp the complexities of forming regular verbs in the present tense. By immersing themselves in the lyrics, students reinforced their understanding through music. The class collectively shared their excitement, emphasizing how amazing it was to learn and apply these concepts in everyday life.

This innovative approach seamlessly incorporated elements that went beyond just teaching the language. "I love doing this activity with my students because they love to sing in class, and it is an incredible way to use real-life resources to help them learn the language and the culture," said Mr. Ribeiro. Understanding the various Spanish verb forms is crucial, as it is the foundation of effective communication in the language. Making the learning process enjoyable keeps students motivated and helps them retain the information more effectively. This activity enhanced the students' skills and made them feel more confident, with a harmonious connection to the Spanish language.

The School's diverse approaches are emblematic of how diversified and differentiated we are in our instruction, reaching all students through multiple modalities. These Trailblazers show how powerful it can be to use culture, music, and grammar to create a fun and rewarding learning experience.
