This week, the Lower Campus Student Leadership Club hosted a successful Bake Sale on St. Patrick's Day to raise funds for Zibby's Bookshop, a local bookstore dedicated to assisting schools and libraries affected by recent fires.
Comprising dedicated students in Grades 4 through 6, the Student Leadership Club is committed to using their voices and efforts to foster positive change and give back to the community. Through fundraisers, service projects, and school-wide initiatives, members develop leadership skills while working together to support important causes.
Over the past month, student leaders collaborated in small groups to research causes they were passionate about and explore how the Sierra Canyon community could get involved. Following thoughtful presentations, the students voted on which organization to support. They ultimately chose to raise funds for Zibby's Bookshop and took full ownership of planning the event from start to finish.
The Bake Sale featured a variety of festive treats that tied into the St. Patrick's Day theme. The students raised over $2,500 for Zibby's Bookshop, making it a truly lucky day for all involved, including those who enjoyed the delicious fare.
At Sierra Canyon, dynamic extracurricular programs expand student perspectives and foster meaningful connections with the broader community. The Student Leadership program empowers our youngest Trailblazers to take initiative, develop their voices, flex their entrepreneurial muscles, and create a lasting impact—both within the Lower School and beyond.
