Noetic? No problem! The collective juggernaut, the Lower School Math Teams, continues to romp across the contest landscape.

Most recently, students took part in the Noetic Learning Contest, the term "noetic," anything concerning mental activity, applying in its most stringent sense. Students tackle challenges of increasing complexity and rigor throughout the 20-question contest in a feat of their sophisticated intellect and reasoning abilities. The contest is open to 2nd through 8th Grade students, and for the first time in SC history, the 2nd Grade captured the team challenge award, a plaque given to a team placing in the top 10% of the country based upon the highest six scores in the grade level. Notable mention goes to the 4th Grade, who also placed very close to this honor.

The list below shows those who achieved the highest level on this year's Noetic Contest, fall 2023.

There is not a secret formula to success in this subject. An unwavering belief in one's efficacy abates the mystique of math; finding joy in problem-solving vaults student achievement at any level to a celebration of one's authentic abilities and accomplishments.

Many more contests are coming up in the new year, including a second Noetic. Team scores hinge upon participation to amass a total, allowing for consideration of group achievement.
