The Middle School years are a unique time for students to explore their interests, build leadership skills, and actively shape their learning experience. This week, Middle School students embraced these opportunities through student government and a vibrant Clubs Fair.

Laying the foundation for an active and engaged school year, our 7th and 8th Grade students took the first steps in establishing their Middle School Student Council. They listened to speeches from candidates eager to enhance student life and strengthen the school community. After thoughtful consideration, students cast their votes. We are proud to announce the 2024-2025 Middle School President, Derby B. '30, and Vice President, Jake F. '29. Students can actively participate in student government as representatives, bringing their ideas and proposals to weekly meetings. The Council will have a hand in planning upcoming spirit days and organizing student socials like the Middle School Teams Night in October.

At the Middle School Clubs Fair, students explored a diverse range of clubs, from theater to chess to current events. This year, student leaders have already made an impact by proposing new initiatives, including the Homework Club, founded by Ty F. '30 and Ayan R. '30. Recognizing the importance of a collaborative space where students can work on assignments and connect after school, this club is just one example of how students are addressing real needs on campus while pursuing their interests.

By fostering leadership, creativity, and collaboration, we equip our students with the confidence and skills to serve them well beyond Middle School.
