Sierra Canyon School had an outstanding year in Advanced Placement (AP) testing for the 2023-2024 school year.

Last May, the Upper School had 248 students take 555 AP exams across 28 subject areas, with a record-breaking 91% of our students earning a score of 3 or above.

While our students were successful across all subject areas, we saw a perfect 100% pass rate (scores only of 3, 4, or 5) in the following subjects, with our pass rate being 35% or more above the global pass rate:

  • AP 2-D Art
  • AP Precalculus
  • AP Calculus AB
  • AP Calculus BC
  • AP French Language and Culture
  • AP Latin
  • AP Spanish Language and Culture
  • AP Physics C
  • AP World History

Congratulations to our World Languages and Math Departments for an overall 100% pass rate on the 2024 AP exams!

Participation in the Advanced Placement offerings included 46% of our sophomores, 59% of juniors, and 67% of seniors taking at least one AP exam. Sierra Canyon boasted 41 AP Scholars (students who have scored a 3 or higher on at least three different AP exams), 21 AP Scholars with Honors (students who have scored a 3 or higher on at least four different AP exams), and 46 AP Scholars with Distinction (students who have scored a 3 or higher on at least five different AP exams).

AP prep starts now, whether one is enrolled in a class or not. From an early age, Trailblazers have the opportunity to engage in lessons and skill development that will lead to great success in these courses or on these exams. So, let's help all of our students at every age set their sights high and aim at excellence.

We are so proud of our students and faculty for all their hard work and dedication. We anticipate the coming year to be even more successful, and we look forward to another great year of classroom engagement and academic achievement.
